Get Your Reading In

I love this line from Graphic 45...it's so vintage and cute.  Of course I had to make a mini book for the front of my card...it just screamed for it.

The really great part is you can pick up all the supplies to make this card at 7 Kids College Fund. Here a supply list

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow

Spring G45 Style

You know how much I love Graphic 45...so I thought I would use the Once Upon A Springtime paper to make this weeks spring card for ABC Design Team

The background of the card was first stamped with the little bird and musical notes from the Crafty Secrets Altered Art set. I just randomly stamped all over to make my own designer paper. The Once Upon A Springtime paper makes it so easy to layer up a card in no time with their cool graphics.  I just cut out various scenes and layered them up.
The cluster of flowers were also so easy with this paper line.  I just cut out some of the printed flowers and crinkled their edges to give that dimension I love.  Layered and glue them up and it made a perfect embellishment.  I also added some flower soft to the middle of the flowers and the middle of the bottom button for more detail.
The ribbon along the top was pleated and added for the final touch.

So are you ready to make your spring card?  I hope you are and you'll join us for our ABC Design Team Challenge and maybe win up to $25 in product from ABC Toy and Craft.  I would love to have at least 100 entries this month...so get your mojo on and be sure to tell you friends about our challenge too!!!!

Until next week, have a great weekend!

Birthday Day Wishes

Happy Friday everyone. Are you ready to jump into the weekend with a birthday card for ABC Design Team.  This weeks project was one that I really fretted over.  Do you have weeks like that, just have a hard time finding that mojo.  That's how I felt this week, but once I finished my card...I FELL IN LOVE.  Adore this baby.  I'm not sure I'll be giving this one away, I like it so much. LOL.

Here is what I used to create my project for this week.  I started with Black Bazzil Cardstock and cut my base card out using Spellbinders Grand Label Four.  The base designer paper is from my favorite line...yeap you guessed it Graphic 45's Steampunked. I inked the edges and glued down to my base. Then I created the flag banner cutting triangles out and layering them together.  The roses were made using Spellbinders Scalloped Circles(the smallest sizes) .  You just punch your circle out and cut in a swirl towards the center.  I cut about one half to two times around and the cut out the very middle.  Roll from the inside out and form your roses.  I also fold the scalloped edges outward to add some flavor.  Glue the roses down once you have them complete and top the banner off with some pearl/gem accents.

Next I punched a border with the Martha Stewart Deep Punch die Garden Trellis and edges with some polka dot ribbon.  Finally the Birthday sentiment tag was created stamping the sentiment from the adorable collection of Craft Secrets/ Fairyland and then I heat embossed it.  Added some pearls to the side and also a pearl bauble that I colored with a Copic Marker (Burnt Umber E29) to the bottom right corner. I've really loved using my copics to color all types of embellishments to make them blend in. The tag was complete with a button and some waxy flax in black for the bows and knots.

Next week I'll be kicking off a whole new theme for ABC DT so be sure to tune in next Friday.  Also don't forget there is still time to participate in our challenge for this month where you can win up to $25 in free product from our store.  Check it out here.

This project qualifies for following challenges:

Graphic 45 Altered Canister for ABC Designs

Good Morning.  Well I've been busy in my craft cubbie coming up with some beautiful creations with Graphic 45. I just love all of their lines...in fact you should see there brand new paper packs that are just rolling out ...YUMMY!

For Christmas my husband gave me a bottle of my favorite perfume and the container that it came in was just to good to throw away and last night it transformed into this beautiful canister.  I love the way it turned out.  ABC Design Blog is having a Design Team call and I thought this piece would be perfect to enter.

To create a project similar to this one here are some general directions and links to ABC's store where you can have the supplies shipped directly to you:.

Cover your base box/canister with Graphic 45 "Once Upon a Springtime" designer paper. Be sure to use a sturdy glue so it will really adhere.

Use Spellbinders Label Seventeen to cut your front motif out.  Ink the edges with sponge daubers and glue together using EK Success 3D Dots to give that dimension and pop! Pierce a small hole in the bottom middle and add jump ring and pearl bauble to dangle and finish off with ribbon.

For your top, cut various sized Blossoms from Spellbinders Daisy Heads.  Ink all the edges of the petal and cut in towards the center on some petals and curl with a pierce or other tool, or even between your fingers to give some interest to your layers.  Pierce the center with a hole and attach all the layers together staring with the largest layers on the bottom and working up.  I used a large pearl brad from Kaiser Kraft for the middle of my flower.

Cut a thin strip of paper and create a loop/circle just a bit smaller than the cap of your canister.  Adhere various sized pearls around the rim for a jeweled look. Glue to the top along with your flower.

Finish off with ribbon and before you know it you have a beautiful gift.

Thank you so much for stopping by and please be sure to check out ABC Designs for a Spellbinders, Stamps, Paper and so much more...DISCOUNTED.

Lounging By The Lake Layout

I love the way this layout turned out.  It was one of those that when I first started I really didn't have a clue how it was going to turn out or if I'd even like it, much less LOVE IT!! but I do.  The papers and some of the embellishments are from my monthly Swirly Doos kit.  For the background paper I used Tattered Angels masks and sprayed the masks with the mist, instead of spraying the paper.  Then I flipped over the masks that were good and soaked with the glimmer mist and pressed onto my paper.  In essence I got the positive of the image, instead of the negative.  I then sanded and tore some of Coredinations new Graphic 45 paper for a great distressed layer.  Added a Spellbinders border that I also stenciled to really make it pop and made the flowers by hand so they would blend in just right. Hope you like this layout as much as I do.

I'll be working hard this weekend getting my projects ready for the final round of Spellbinders...so wish  me luck.

Be sure to leave some love/comment and let me know.  I hope everyone has a great weekend and is able to find some time to spend with family and CRAFT!!!

Hugs, Lori
