Veranda Album Workshop, May 20th
This Dream album is adorable and fun to make. It's all from the Close To My Heart collection Veranda and it's designed to be a personal little journal. Capture a few pictures of yourself from childhood to now....jot down some of your thoughts on happiness, kindness and more and create a keepsake to pass along to your loved ones that's all about you. Of course the album can be used for a variety of subjects but I always seem to leave myself out of the scrapbooking and I thought this was a great personalized book. Come join me on May 20th, 6pm and go home with a completed 6 x 6 accordion album. All the supplies and materials and colored directions will be provided for the workshop. The cost for the entire workshop is $30 and space is limited so please contact me today to reserve your space.
Don't live near me....no problem, I can mail you a kit with detailed instructions to complete in the privacy of your home.

I WAS WRONG! GO FIGURE
I have told everyone for quite sometime that Close To My Heart's Cardstock does not do well in the Cricut. Well Saturday afternoon I started out on a mission to see if our cardstock would work in the Cricut and I found out I was wrong, it works GREAT. The reason I started this journey was because I had several customers who have used a certain color of cardstock from Stampin Up as thier flesh color and low and behold Stampin Up is discontining that particular color....so I came up with a wonderful solution. Our TAFFY color I think is just perfect, has just a hint of pink blush to it so it's great for that fleshy skin tone. I also think that the PARCHMENT would work well. I did a comparison for you so you can decide which you prefer. This cutie little guy was cut using my Everyday Paper Doll cartridge..
Here are a few tips to help you when you use Close To My Heart card stock in your Cricut.
I had my depth of the blade on 4 and my pressure on Medium.
I didn't use a brand new mat, one with a little ware, so my card stock stuck but not to much
I also used the spatula to lift my images up off the mat once they were cut.

Toby Turtle Says " Welcome to the DZ Doodle Challenge"
Isn't this just the cutest little turtle? I fell in love with him when I saw him. I've really gotten Spring Fever the last few days seeing all the flowers starting to bloom, working out in the yard spreading mulch with my hubbie and starting to get the yard ready to welcome in the warm weather. So Toby just seemed to fit the mood I've been in lately. The challenge this week at DZ Doodles was to use any sketch from anywhere...so of course I had to pull out my WISHES book from Close To My Heart and I used the sketch Satchel on page 38. Don't have the WISHES book...you really should. The layouts for cards are great and there are so many quickie how-tos and tips through out the whole book. You'd love it! Now back to the challenge, it's your turn. Pick any sketch from anywhere and make a DZ Doodle card and enter it in our weekly challenge. Here's the link to the DZ Doodle Blog so be sure to enter and you could win. For doing the challenge you could win two free images so everyone should really check out the details and you just might be the lucky one.

A Second Day Of Miracle !
We'll I teased you yesterday with my second layout using the Miracle Kit....so here it is.
On this layout I used the Flip Flaps on the right hand page and was able to put six photos on one layouts, but yet the pictures don't crowd out the artwork. AMAZING!
(Flip Flaps Closed)
(Flip Flaps Open)
But I told you I would reveal the second Miracle of this kit...and it's the IRRESITIBLE DIMENSIONAL ELEMENTS! What you say? These are chipboard elements that have a resist pattern on them that make your layouts literally go with any photo or color combination. In this project I used black ink...yes I know a little outside the box, but I felt like a great accent color in my photos was black. So I took my handy dandy sponge dauber and put black on my irresistibles....and pop...the page works with my pictures. You are so gonna love them and I will tell you are some new one that you can also pick up in the Summer Idea Book that will premiere May 1st. On yesterday's post I used my favorite color Cranberry...so go back and take a look.

I adore these Miracle pages for so many reasons, the kit, the accessories, the simplicity but more than anything the wonderful people that are featured in them...My little monkey son, Cole, and my sweet friends, Tina, Denise and Lynn. It's so nice to know that I have beautiful pages that will capture snippets of my wonderful life forever and that too is a real MIRACLE.

So what's the Miracle behind this kit....
I really think it's two things.
The first is you can have your layouts hold unlimited pictures. How you ask? FLIP FLAPS. Have you used Flip Flaps? If not my next question would be WHY NOT! They're Great! They allow you to add multiple pictures to your layouts and still have design. On this page I've used three pictures on this page, but when the Flip Flaps are closed it only looks like one...I just love the design effect of these.....and yes the Flip Flaps come in your kit.
Flip Flap Closed
Flip Flap open.
Don't you just love this? The other thing that makes this kit so special is the dimensional elements...and tomorrow I'll show you more about those....another reason you're going to have to have this kit. So stayed tuned till tomorrow and see another layout using the Miracle Kit and discover the irresitables.
