Oh Baby

I don't know about you but I'm so happy it's the start of the weekend today.  To kick off your creative juices for the weekend I've made this adorable BABY card using Scrapping Cottage dies.  The lamb is actually from their Easter collection but it's perfect for baby cards too.

He was so easy to create with the die...I cut and then lightly inked the edges with some distress ink ..THAT WAS IT and look how adorable he is.

Here is a complete list of dies and products used for this card:

U Make Me Bloom

Have you ever had someone in your life that just makes you bloom?  Makes you a better person just because?  I'm so blessed to have several of those people and my sister Gini is one of them.  She's been my best friend my whole life..This layout is about how she makes me bloom.
The faces were created from PaperClay and molded.  I love the intricate details of the mold.  Once dry the I colored and painted with watercolor pencils, blender pen, distress inks and even a touch of smooch.

It's so great the way I can created my own embellishments with Paperclay.

The leaves are from Scrapping Cottage along with the flowers...beautiful, don't you think?

Love Birds

It's the perfect season for cards filled with love and sweet wishes. With out Scrapping Cottage's new Valentine collection cards are easy peasy. This card was created using the Whimsey Bird and Cage die. Granted it's great for Valentines but the best part about this die is you really can use it anytime for any occasion. The sentiment (from Unity) is stamped on the Airplane with Banner and Sign another one that I use over and over.

I hope you have had a chance to participate in Scrapping Cottage's  current challenge....just create a layout and use one of their dies and you might just win a prize. Here's the link to our current challenge.

First Publication with My Little Shoebox and Cottage Cutz

I'm so excited to share my first publication.  I know many of you have been published tons, but I've never submitted.  I did submit for a contest My Little Shoebox was having to feature a layout in their February ad.  I was thrilled when I found out my layout won.  Finally after months of waiting Northridge February magazines are being released...and my layout is in it.

I used all My Little Shoebox papers and of course had to use Cottage Cutz that matched the MLSB lines.  I used the following dies:

Snowbird Sign

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!! Today I created a sign...now let me explain it just a bit. My Mother's big party each year is Christmas Eve and she always trys to have a little keepsake for everyone to take home. This year she has a beautiful little twig tree she spray painted silver and covered in glittery snowflake ornaments for everyone. However with it being the center piece people would never know to take one home with them...so I thought I would make a little sign to put in front tree.

I used the adorable HAPPY BIRD die from Scrapping Cottage. for this project. I've always looked at this die and have seen a sweet little bird singing in spring, but I love how he looks like a snowbird for my project today.....really a die you can use all year long.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Christmas and is able to spend it with family and friends. See soon!!!

Last Minute Gift Idea

Are you needing a small little handmade gift for a teacher, hostess or friend? I have an easy gift that really doesn't take long at all to make but is so useful. A tissue box holder. You can pick up wooden tissue box covers at your local craft store for just a couple dollars and then the creative fun begins.

You can cover the box with just one sheet of designer paper...granted I used two but I just wanted the mixed up patterns and I love this collection for KaiserCraft  Then just add a few die cuts and and your done. Of course you can go more detailed if you want but I figured you didn't want to much going on as you needed to be able to get to the tissue.

I used the beautiful Blossom Branch die from Scrapping Cottage. I did ink up the center and some of the edges with a little distress ink and then cupped the flowers with my McGill paper tool to lift them up. Easy Peasy...glued them down with some strong glue and topped them off with "of course" pearls. I do love me some pearls, LOL.
Have a great rest of the week

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  I hope everyone is a having a blessed weekend with family and friends.  I heard a little saying the other day if you only had today what you had thank God for yesterday...What would you have?  I know my list would be to long to name.  I truly am blessed with my family, friends and my life.

Today I created a treat box for you using My Mind's Eye Christmas Lost and Found Collection.  You can pick yours up at Beary Scrap.  I also used the adorable Gingerboy Chef from Scrapping Cottage.  He is from a special release just for Black Friday and is on sales this weekend along with a ton of other great goodies, so be sure to check it out on this shopping hall of fame weekend.

Lastly I wanted to share some bittersweet news...The Beary Scrap Challenge Blog and Design Team is coming to an end.  Don't worry the shop will still continue on bringing you those collections you love.  I'm sure Kimm from Beary Scrap will be coming up with awesome ideas to share with you all in the future so she'll be seeing you around blogland, just not through the challenge site.  I've really enjoyed my time with Beary Scrap and will miss the rest of my design team sisters...they are so wonderful.

Have a great holiday and know YOU are on my list of things to be thankful for.

You are all going to love the new collection from Cottage Cutz/ Scrapping Cottage that is coming out soon.  Hot Cocoa Cafe is so stinkin cute, it's not even funny. It's so detailed it really doesn't need anything else on the card.

I also used the Scallop Three Edger die along the top...fit in just perfectly.

Have a great week and I'll see you in a few days.

Boo To You

I have to admit I'm not one of those artist that has a concept of a project before I begin and then go and create what my mind conceived.  Nope...not me at all.  I'm more the speed of sit down and see what happens.  I might have a die, stamp or paper line I have in mind but that's about as much planning as I do.  So as you can imagine, sometimes my projects are home runs and sometimes...well just ...let's just say some aren't, LOL.  This card to me is one of my home runs...I LOVE IT!!!!

I started with the My Mind's Eye Mischievous paper line that Beary Scraps has just gotten in and it's super cute.My paper helped me choose my puppies colors and then everything started to come together for this double Z fold card.  Don't you just love this puppy die from Cottage Cutz dies....so stinkin cute. The puppy actually is connected to the card/pumpkin by twine so he can be pulled out to say BOO TO YOU, but he won't come all the way out, which ensures he stays with the card :)

Once you untie the front a Happy Halloween Sentiment is ready to pop out and greet you.  Overall I adore this card... everything about it just came together perfect.

Here is a complete list of all the adorable dies I used for this card all from The Scrapping Cottage/ Cottage Cutz.

Be sure to scoop up your dies...I've heard they are selling out.
