My First Video....GO SEE IT!

I've been telling everyone I was going to do this for some time...and I had to show I wasn't a liar, so here's my first card video. It's a great basic card that highlights one of my favorite new stamps. Have fun and please let me know what you think.

Thanks so several ladies help, the video can now be seen above on the screen...thanks everyone.

Experience The Land of Oz

Our family was really lucky to get to go spend a weekend at The Land of Oz in Blowing Rock, NC. This was an amusement park almost 30 years ago, but you can still go and stay in Dorothy's House and immerse yourself in the Land of Oz. The witches castle and some of the exhibits are still there waiting for a child's eye and imagination to bring them back to life, and my little Cole did just that. The upper portion of the Dorothy's house has been updated and is just like a normal country house...but travel down to the basement and you'll be transported through the tornado and into the other side of the house where the storm has hit and everything is a mess. It was really cool to explore all these little places with just my husband Greg and Cole. Cole did get scared at the witch they had laying on a couch in the tornado side of the house...they had her there for storage. Every year the park opens up for one weekend and everything is out on display for all those who continue to love The Wizard of Oz. Oh and you'll also get an extra treat with the wildlife...Cindy who is the caretaker of the park/house raises baby deer that have been abandoned by their mothers and Sally (the little deer) certainly wasn't bashful to my Cole. It was a real treat to pet and feed her. If you're looking for a different type of getaway that will compare with nothing you've ever done...give Cindy a call and book your stay

September Stamp of The Month Blog Hop

Welcome to September's Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We are featuring Septembers Treasures a set of 13 stamps. If you have come here from Laura's Blog, you are on the right path!***This month we have almost 70 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!
So here's my beautiful card.......I love, love, love this month's stamp. It's just so beautiful with the autumn wildflowers and lovely sentiments...I've created this stunning card using a pattern from the Wishes Book with a circle peek a boo window. How cute is that!! I used the Caprice paperpack on this 6x6 card and the ink colors are chocolate and crystal blue. Inking the edges really helps to add that final touch to your artwork, so don't forget the little details. The large seedling stamp was first stamped with the chocolate ink and then restamped with versa mark...this is just one of the great features of our MyAcrylix stamp sets...you can actually see through them to line up perfectly for a restamp. After I stamped with Versa Mark I sprinkled clear embossing powder over and set the powder for that finished sheen I just adore. Then I cut the flower out and gluded it in the interior of the card where it would peek through to the front. I then stamped the interior with the chocolate and crystal blue images, plus added a sweet sentiment. I painted liquid glass on the ribbon that runs along the front of the card to add an additional design element along with the crystal blue bitty brads. I really hope you love this card as much as I do, it really just seems to usher in the Autumn Season.
Now "Hop" on over to Jamia's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! I love Halloween....bring on the cards!

I have to say Close To My Heart has some really, really cute Halloween stamps. My favorite new Halloween stamp is Spellbound and it's so adorable with the tree, pumpkins, and even the spooky old fence, plus others. Everyone will want one of these when the new Idea Book premieres September 1st. My other Halloween card uses little spooks, an oldie but a goody. Aren't they just adorable. I hope these cards will inspire you to go create something boootiful!

Layout for the "Own It" Contest at Leadership

Close to My Heart Leadership Conference had several contests and one of them was a layout with a personal interpretation of what "OWN IT" meant. This was a layout I did of my son Will and was really pleased with the finished result. I was in the top five, but not the 1st place winner...that's OK, because there was some really beautiful artwork there to compete with. I used the back country paper pack for this layout, which is really funny because it was my least favorite when it premiered the beginning of summer, and yet...I've used it more than any other paper this past quarter...just goes to show, you sometimes have to rethink things. I just love the over all clean design on this layout and I feel it really shows how much I've learned and gained from Close To My Heart.
