5 Minute Flower

Hi everybody...I know you normally see my HeartFelt post on Wednesday but check back on Friday to see that creation.  Today I'm sharing with you a simple but great card I did for ABC DT.

I love this line of Graphic 45 paper...Le Cirque.  It' just yummy and rich and perfect to make stunning flowers.  I just punched out nine circles and folded each into thirds/ a pie shape.   Then glued them all  to a circle base... and topped it off with some embellishments and it was done.  Really it's the flower that makes the card.
Now it your turn to make one of these fun flowers or for that matter any project with flowers and enter it in ABC DT Challenge for this month.  You could win up to a $25 gift certificate just for having some fun.  So hurry so there's still time.

See you on Friday with a Heartfelt Layout.

Simple, Quick and Beautiful

Happy Friday ! Today I'm sharing with you a simple, quick and beautiful card I created for ABC Design Team.  I wanted to created something that didn't have a lot of stamping on it and really could be made in a short amount of time. For me this was a challenge in and of itself, LOL

One of the things I love about this card is the flowers.  I created these using the new Making Memories Flower Shop petals.  By taking multiple petals and folding and layering them you can create wonderful blooming flowers that just makes any project POP!!!!

Here is a listing of the other products I used to create this card...be sure to stop over at ABC Toy and Craft and pick up yours.

Also be sure to join in this months fun challenge over at ABC...it's easy...create something and use FLOWERS... You could win up to $25 in free product just for being creative.

Have a great weekend and I hope you get lots of crafting done....

Scrapbook Your Recipes

It's great to scrapbook those cherished pictures...but have you ever thought of scrapping cherished recipes?  This is a 8 x 8 layout I did for one of my summer favorites, Strawberry Pie.  Majority of what you first see is the ingredients, but the mini book on the side has step by step directions for making the pie.

I used embossed unity stamps to add some flair and the perfect finish for my page was the crocheted strawberries from the new Creative Charms Kit of the month.  I hope you'll try to scrap something other than just pictures this week.  There are so many possibilities out there.

May Flowers Now in Bloom

This month at ABC DT we are celebrating May with Flowers.  It's so wonderful to see the flowers starting to pop up everywhere you go.  I love all the color.  My favorite flowers are poppies, but my second favorite is Sunflowers...they're stunning. Like a big slice of sunshine.

The card I created today uses the Crafty Secrets Sunflowers Stamp.  I stamped on patterned paper and cut the sunflower and leaves out.  I then layer it on kraft paper that was cut using Spellbinders Label Four    ..  The polka dot paper was punched along the edges with Martha Stewart Lacy Doily Edge Punch.  The small sentiment tags are stamped using Crafty Secrets Birdies at Home set.  Everything was pulled together with a few black pearls and some seam binding that I colored with Tattered Angels Spray Mist.

I know you're creating lots of projects using flowers right now.. it's quite the rage.  So why don't you enter them in our monthly contest.  You could win up to $25 in your choice of goodies from ABC Toys and Crafts Shop.  Click the link below to join in ...and remember it's a judged competition and you can enter as many times as you like.  Be sure to follow the rules..they're really easy peasy.

Have a great weekend and I hope you get to enjoy some sunshine...

Kaiser Krazy....YEAH!!!

Did you hear that noise? Yeap,  It was me screaming while I stood in my kitchen and read I had made the top 25 finalist for the KaiserCraft Design Team Call.  I'm so thrilled...I ADORE KAISER and it's always nice to know someone else likes your work.  So the roller coaster ride continues and I'll have my next round of entries in to Kaiser by the end of the month...and then the wait starts all over.  Send those good crafts vibes my way..but if nothing else cheer along with me to have made it this far in the company of some wonderful artist.

Heartfelt Wednesday : New Life

Welcome to another Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations.  This week I created a layout for you.  I had to use these pictures...they are from a robins nest that was/is right outside my parents house.  My Dad was able to hold the camera up and shoot...and I think he got some great shots.

New Life 12 x 12 Layout

Heartfelt Creations Products: Perfect Petal Medley Stamp HCPC 3313, Posy Patch Flowers Stamp HCPC 3303, Posy Patch Die HCD701, Perfect Petals Die HCD704, Decorative Butterfly Border Die HCD702, Scalloped Circle Grand Nestibilities 452063, Zip Dry Glue ZD2OZ

Other Products Used: Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Paper, Prima Paper, Ranger Liquid Pearls, Tattered Rose Distress Ink, Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Fonts, Kasier Craft Pearls, Paper Piercer, Corner Rounder/Scallop punch, standard hole punch, X-acto tool, 3-d tape

Directions:
Cut the center our of your base page leaving at least an inch border. Take the inside piece of your base page and use this to create your scalloped circle. On each of the scallops punch a hole with your hole punch. Cut your top base to 11 ½ x 11 ½ and adhere to your base frame using zip dry glue. For the long pink strip cut to 3 ¼ x 10 ½ , scallop and punch the top edge and ink all around with distress ink. For the pale blue word strip cut to 3 ¾ x 7 ½ and scallop, punch and ink that piece. Cut the patterned butterflies from the paper using your X-acto tool. You just want to do the wings so they will still be attached but you will be able to pull forward so they look as if they are coming off the page.

To create the flowers stamp various sizes of Posy Patch flowers and cut out using the matching die. Ink all the edges with distress ink. Take the handle end of your piercer and curl the petals inward. Stack and glue with Zip Dry. Complete the centers with Rangers Perfect pearls and let dry. Cut butterfly out using Butterfly die and patterned paper and add perfect pearls to the body of the butterfly…let dry. Stamp leaves with Perfect petal medley stamp and cut with matching die…curl the leaves also as you did the flower petals.

Assembly:
Lay your patterned paper pieces down tucking the circle under the butterflies wing. Glue all patterned paper down. Mount photos on patterned paper and glue down. Add fonts to the layout and also glue all your flowers, leaves and butterfly down . Add foam tape to the back of the X-acto tooled butterflies to give some dimension. Apply pearls to layout and add perfect pearls to the font letters…be sure to not touch until dry. Finally back your whole layout on a clean 12 x 12 piece of cardstock to give strength and also a base for the foam tape on the back of the butterflies to adhere to.

Now it's time to check out the other Heartfelt Design Teams creations...they really are stunning.  Oh and be sure to stop in next Wednesday as it will be the premiere of the new release...and let me tell you, It's stunning.

Hugs, Lori
