August Stamp of The Month Blog Hop....

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring August's SOTM,which is IT"S YOUR DAY, a set of 26 stamps. If you have come here from Adeline's Blog, you are on the right path! If this is your first stop, you may want to goback to Jena's Blog and start from the beginning!***This month we have 64 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I really wanted to try to think outside of the box a little...so I did two projects for you. My first is a birthday box card.

For this project I used a small found box and covered it with Bella B&T Duos Paper . I then inked the edges using one of our sponge daubers and the Olive Exlusive Ink Pad. Covered the top of the box with our Hollyhock Twill Ribbon and painted the surface of the ribbon with our Liquid Glass (which by the way is one of my favorite products of ours). The final touch at the top of the box is the felt flower from the heartfelt whimsy die cuts, pulled all together with an olive brad.

But you ask where did I use this months stamp....let's open it up
.....................SURPRISE ...................................

Up pops a cute little birthday cake that was stamped with It's Your Day and covered with the liquid glass. On the top inside of the box, I've also made an adorable card sending birthday wishes to the birthday girl/or boy. This would be really cute if filled with some candy or maybe even a bauble or two. The additional Exlusive Ink Pad Stamp Sets used to complete this card are hollyhock, Creme Brulee, and Pansy Purple.

I also did a card using the Top Band Design from the Wishes Card Confidence Card Book. This card used the Bella B&T Duos paper too and the colonial white cardstock. The edge of the card I used a section from the birthday cake of It's your day and created a patterned edge. I then used the liquid glass to dot all polka dots and really help them pop out. The accent flower on the front was cut from the Bella paper and the ribbon used to accent was the cocoa grosgrain . Finally the sentiment was used from the SOTM and pop dotted to give a nice raised effect. The various Exclusive Ink Pad colors I used for the card were : Olive and Hollyhock.

I hope you have enjoyed the projects I made using the August Stamp of the Month.

July's Stamp of the Month...You've Got Flair.

I really love this stamp set as I feel it's so versatile. You can do back ground paper so easy. On the pink and black card...I actually used all white cardstock and with the help of some versa mark ink and my brayer I made textured pink cardstock...then I stamped and colored the rest. On the black, white and red card I did it all with black and white solid cardstock and there again stamped the background. On the orange and blue card I used paper from one of my favorite packs...Perfect Day. I just love the shabby chic look of this paper and with the paper piecing it really gives it great detail. Remember you can get this stamp set free for the month of July just ask me how.

House Card Instructions

Cut the base of the house 9 x 5 inches. Score at 1" and 5". Use a decorative punch on the edge with a 1 inch fold. Stamp your windows and door (from the CTMH Campin Fever stamp set) and cut out. I backed the window with sweet leaf cardstock and used a girl silhoutte from the Be Yourself stamp set in the window. Attach brads for the door hinges and door knob. (I cut an extra door shape out of green leaf cs when I cut the door- you can then stamp a sentiment to see when the door is opened). Glue your window and door. Glue the two side edges of the house, so that a pocket is formed.

For the roof, cut cocoa cs 3 x 6, and score in half horizontally. Cut a corner off of the left side to form the angle of the roof, then flip the cut-off over to the right to use as a template to cut the same angle on the right side. Open up the roof and on the score line, about an inch from the right margin, use an exacto knife to cut a slit just a hair over 1 inch. This is where you will insert a 1" x 1" square for your chimney. Glue the bottom of the chimney to the inside of the roof.

Make the base of the notecard by cutting a 5 x 4.25 piece in colored cs, and a 4 x 3.25 piece of white cs for your writing area. Glue the white card towards the bottom of the colored cs (you should have a 1.75 inch margin of colored cs at the top) Use edge anchors to attach the roof to the card (this way, it will only be attached at the top, and the rest of the roof will flap loose, so it can slide down over the house). Slip the notecard down into the house pocket and your card is complete.

This card will fit in a 6 x6 envelope.
