Happy Birthday Baby Will

Just wanted to give a big SHOUT OUT for my baby boy Will.  Today he turns 10 and granted for any kid that's a big deal, but for Will, it's extra special.  Will is disabled and was never suppose to make it past the age of 2 and now he's turning 10...I'm so happy.  He is such a sweet blessing to me and I really thank God everyday for the special gift he has given me in my boys.  Will is a great example of Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  "

Thanks for letting me get personal for a moment...I promise Wednesday's post will be back to just crafting....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Thank you for Easter

This month at ABC DT our challenge is Easter cards and as much as I love bunnies and chicks...they aren't the real meaning of Easter for me.  I'm so thankful for the love my savior showed me by giving his life.  Amazing!!! Everyday I strive to show the love and sweet spirit that Christ examples...and though I have so much work to do, I hope people will see a glimpse of  him in me.

This is a card I did for the monthly Easter challenge and I created the cross with a bunch of stamped and cut butterflies...The butterfly stamp is from Crafty Secrets Arts Stamps Sew Special  and just like all of Crafty Secrets stamps, they are so detailed and beautiful.  The sentiment is Crafty Secrets Rose Flowers.  I love the sentiment but you should see the flower that comes with this set, beautiful.  Of course, I used Spellbinders to cut the oval backgrounds and also the rectangle for the sentiment.

I hope you have a wonderful week and take a moment to show someone a little extra love.  Oh and be sure to join in our Easter Challenge during the month of April.

The Birds are Chirping in Spring

This month we are celebrating spring at ABC Design Team and what better icon of the season than little birdies.   On this card I used something a little different...the packaging from a Spellbinders die..yeap that's right the package itself.  I just cut out the clear plastic to make a sheet and stamped it with Staz On ink, let it dry, cut it out, pierced a small hole and added jump rings to make these adorable clear bird cage charms. The stamp sets I used for this card are all from Crafty Secrets and they are all so detailed  it's wonderful.  The bird cages and the flourishes are from Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps Birdies at home and the main bird, note, sentiment and bird feet are from Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps Bird Notes.

Here is a close up of the detailing of the card to give you a bit of a better view.
Now we want you, it's your turn to join the fun.  Get out your stamps and cardstock and create a beautiful Easter card and enter it in our April ABC DT Challenge and you might just win $25 in free goodies.

I hope you all have a great weekend...remember taxes are due Monday (had to ruin my post with that, LOL)

Easter is Almost Here

I love Easter, it's one of my favorite holidays.  Granted the true meaning of Easter is what truly makes it precious, but I have to admit, I also love the little bunnies, chics and chocolate.  Here is a Easter card I made celebrating the season with a sweet little bunny.

I really like the way I stamped the image five times, colored it with my copics and then cut it with stacking Spellbinders Nesties.  I hope you enjoy.

Spring G45 Style

You know how much I love Graphic 45...so I thought I would use the Once Upon A Springtime paper to make this weeks spring card for ABC Design Team

The background of the card was first stamped with the little bird and musical notes from the Crafty Secrets Altered Art set. I just randomly stamped all over to make my own designer paper. The Once Upon A Springtime paper makes it so easy to layer up a card in no time with their cool graphics.  I just cut out various scenes and layered them up.
The cluster of flowers were also so easy with this paper line.  I just cut out some of the printed flowers and crinkled their edges to give that dimension I love.  Layered and glue them up and it made a perfect embellishment.  I also added some flower soft to the middle of the flowers and the middle of the bottom button for more detail.
The ribbon along the top was pleated and added for the final touch.

So are you ready to make your spring card?  I hope you are and you'll join us for our ABC Design Team Challenge and maybe win up to $25 in product from ABC Toy and Craft.  I would love to have at least 100 entries this month...so get your mojo on and be sure to tell you friends about our challenge too!!!!

Until next week, have a great weekend!

Have a little Faith..GREAT NEWS!!!!

I have been getting up all night long to check on the announcement of the new design team for HEARTFELT CREATIONS ....and guess what?  I made the design team...I'm so excited.  I can't wait to show you some beautiful projects using all their awesome stamps and dies over the next six months.  This is one of my entries for the final round.  Leave it to me to do a baby layout of my son using Black, Orange and Blue colors...really?....but,  I love it, LOL.

The tissue flowers were created by cutting multiple layers of tissue with Blossom 3 Spellbinders and then spraying with Tattered Angels.  Once dried I layered up and then stamped the top image with a Heartfelt Creations stamp that fits perfect with the Blossom 3 die.

The orange interior ring was made by cutting corner flourishes from Heartfelts exclusive Spellbinders die and intertwining them to create a circle...I love the delicate look of the ring. Please be sure to leave me some love and let me know what you think and also go check out Heartfelts Blog to see the rest of the design team....They are all amazing.

See ya on Friday with a beautiful Spring card so be sure to stop back by.

I Wonder

This is a 12 x 12 layout I created for Once Upon A Sketch's new challenge.  Let me tell you this blog has some amazing artist as part of their design team and it's an inspiration just to go over and take a look. I'm constantly amazed at how much detail I add to my pages and yet it really doesn't look that hard when I post them to my blog.

For the base page I used Prima paper and sprayed with Tattered Angels and a Prima mask the outline of the swirls, then I sprayed the mask with the pink Tattered Angels and laid it in the negative space for the double effect.
I actually cut thin strips of paper and sewed through the circle by making slits with an exacto tool.  I felt it just needed that pop of blue on the circle and this was a great solution.  I used Coredinations papers for the Fleur De Lis boarder and then sanding.
The banner for the title is from Dusty Attic and it to was sprayed with T.A, along with the fonts and the rose ribbons.  Of course you know me I had to add some pearls with baubles but also one of my new loves...liquid pearls.  They are awesome.  The butterflies are from Prima along with the sparkly green fonts used.

I love the fact that Once Upon a Sketch requires you journal.  This is something I always have to push myself to do but am so happy with the final outcome when I do.

Have a great first of the week and I'll see you Wednesday.

Hello Spring

Happy Friday everybody.  I hope you are having blue skies and sunny warm rays all around you, but I must say all this week where I am has been, rain, rain, rain and then a little more rain.  I'm ready to see the blue skies again and the colorful flowers that come with spring.

This month at ABC DT we are celebrating the season of spring.  This is my first card I created with that theme in mind.  Yes I know the colors aren't really springy, I tend to go with that rich feel and color and I suppose that's just me, but this is my take on spring.

I adore this stamp set from Crafty Secrets, it's a poppy and that's my favorite flower.  I hope I did the beautiful flower justice.  I stamped the image, cut with an oval Spellbinder and then used Copic Markers to color in.I did this twice and cut out the second set and layered on top for depth and dimension.  Next I stamped the dragonfly on a sheet of acetate with staz on ink and then cut him out and glued down.  He really does give the illusion of being in flight.

The image was layered on top of some chipboard that was colored with some glimmer mist and topped with some pearls and then layered on the base card.  Finally the sentiment in the bottom left corner was layered on some ribbon that I pleated and glued to the card.  Next I had a big black button and glued that down.  I stamped the sentiment Hello from Crafty Secrets Sweet Kids using Versa Mark Ink and then embossed with a green embossing powder and then distressed with ink.

I was so happy how many participated in our ABC DT Challenge last month and a new one is getting ready to start up...so be sure to check out our blog and enter for a chance to win a gift certificate to ABC Toys and Crafts.  I'd love to see over 100 come in this month so be sure to spread the word.

This card qualifies for the following challenges:
Copic Creations: Use your favorite Copic technique...coloring/blending
Hugs until next week.

Mama said there would be days like this

Sometimes as hard as you try things just don't go the way you want, and that includes the craft world.  This was one of those weekends.  I had all these grand ideas and nothing seemed to flow quite the way I wanted.  This is a layout I did using one of my pictures I took in St. Maarten.  Love the photos, love the colors, love the bright POP!!! however I just don't usually work in such bright colors and I struggled.  The finished layout is OK, but it doesn't look like my style...Oh well... I will say I loved Saint Maarten, just beautiful and my favorites of all the stops we took along the cruise.

I hope you have a good week and challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone...do something you don't normally do in your crafting and push yourself.  Granted you may not LOVE the final result but then again maybe you will.
