Need a tip?  If you have an open space in a box, you can just leave it open but better yet why not upcycle some of that packing from your craft goodies.  You can always use acetate sheets but if you don't have any on hand use some of the packing from your dies or other craft projects.  It's a great way to reuse everything from your purchase.

I've had the pleasure I working with some of the Art-C projects for the last few months and I was thrilled to work with their CHA release of paints.  OH MY!!! if you love sparkle and pop you are going to adore their paints.  They have several new lines of paint that have come out including a thick chalk paint and a metallic paint writers, , a texture cream/paint that has beautiful sparkle and depth to it and then a fine sparkle paint that  gives you coverage like you wouldn't believe.  All of their paints are professional grade which means the pigment is strong and will give you great coverage with just s pinch.  All of these paints are a must have for the mixed media artist.  I even heard a little rumor you could get these early on

I created this mixed media piece with multiple layers of their paints and stencils.  I even stamped on some tissue paper and added that in, you can really see it in the picture on the top right hand corner. 

 

The dimensional butterflies were created by die cutting out the image and then randomly stamping over them with some of the silver paint.  Then edging it with the aqua paints.  The paint really helped to give some stability to the paper butterflies, so then when they were layered up by three they have some great substance. 

 

I really wanted this piece to be one that highlighted Art-C's paints so I didn't add a lot of embellishments.  I think the textures, sparkle and patterns have enough going on to keep your eye searching and looking for new little bits.

Hello with Hampton Art

Today's card features Hampton Art Stamps and Stencils.  It is simple yet really highlights the stamped and stenciled embellishments.  Sometimes simple can actually be more difficult to pull off that a busy card, you really have to make each element shine.  I started off using solid color card stock and embossed with a folder.  The next step was die cutting out the fancy flourish/circle.  I attached that with foam tape for some texture.  I then punch a plain white circle and used the stencil from the Vintologie Stamp and Stencil set SC 0642.  I used pigment ink so the color would be solid and rich.  You’ll want to be sure that the ink is good and dry before proceeding on.  

On another sheet of white paper I stamp the butterfly stamps and from the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Set IC0296 and fussy cut two of them out.  I then glued them to the stenciled circle and added the circle to the front of the die cut flourish.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment and fussy cut out. I bowed the banner a bit before gluing it down so it pops off the card.  Lastly I layer onto white and then sweet grass green cardstock to finish it all up.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow for another great project.

Kicking it off with Prickley Pear

Happy Monday everyone!  We are kicking of the week with Prickley Pear Design Team Monday.  This is a card I came up with PPRS and also the newest collection of Authentique.  I think there is a bit of an Asian flare, what do you think?

Thank you for Easter

This month at ABC DT our challenge is Easter cards and as much as I love bunnies and chicks...they aren't the real meaning of Easter for me.  I'm so thankful for the love my savior showed me by giving his life.  Amazing!!! Everyday I strive to show the love and sweet spirit that Christ examples...and though I have so much work to do, I hope people will see a glimpse of  him in me. 

This is a card I did for the monthly Easter challenge and I created the cross with a bunch of stamped and cut butterflies...The butterfly stamp is from Crafty Secrets Arts Stamps Sew Special  and just like all of Crafty Secrets stamps, they are so detailed and beautiful.  The sentiment is Crafty Secrets Rose Flowers.  I love the sentiment but you should see the flower that comes with this set, beautiful.  Of course, I used Spellbinders to cut the oval backgrounds and also the rectangle for the sentiment.
