Prickley Pear Rose Tutorial

Hi Everyone,  I'm thrilled to be able to share this super simple tutorial with you today using Prickley Pear dies and stamps.
Supplies Needed: Scalloped Circle Die, Circle Clear StampWinter, Quilling Tool, Scissors, Ink, and Paper
Step One: Cut Scalloped Circle Die
Step Two: Stamp both sides of the die with matching stamp set.
Step Three: Cut through the circle and cut center circle out leaving the outer rim only
Step Four: Curl around quilling tool tightly and then remove…let it open up some and bend back some of the filigree edges back around the outside for a finished rose. Glue to your project to set.

Last Minute Gift Idea

Are you needing a small little handmade gift for a teacher, hostess or friend? I have an easy gift that really doesn't take long at all to make but is so useful. A tissue box holder. You can pick up wooden tissue box covers at your local craft store for just a couple dollars and then the creative fun begins.

You can cover the box with just one sheet of designer paper...granted I used two but I just wanted the mixed up patterns and I love this collection for KaiserCraft  Then just add a few die cuts and and your done. Of course you can go more detailed if you want but I figured you didn't want to much going on as you needed to be able to get to the tissue.

I used the beautiful Blossom Branch die from Scrapping Cottage. I did ink up the center and some of the edges with a little distress ink and then cupped the flowers with my McGill paper tool to lift them up. Easy Peasy...glued them down with some strong glue and topped them off with "of course" pearls. I do love me some pearls, LOL.
Have a great rest of the week

Pure Beauty Layout

Two things I adore...My beautiful mother (who is photographed here) and this new line from KaiserCraft "Sweet Nothings"  It's just so beautiful.

Some of my flowers are the layout are handmade and some of them are Kaiser's paperblooms that have been topped of with a pearl brad.

I really liked the effect that the ripped paper gave this layout.  I did do it very controlled with an Xacto tool, quilling tool and some distress ink.  The vintage feel this techinque gives is just perfect.

I hope I've made you drool just a little over the Sweet Nothings collection...be sure to pick yours up today.

I also used a Cheery Lynn die, Polynesian Sails.  With my handmade flowers this layout qualifies for Cheery Lynns Current Challenge: Handmade Flowers...

I have to admit I'm in love with this collection from October Afternoon Paper...OMWord...it's adorable.  The stamp sentiments and the holly are all from Heartfelt Creations. The gift card was made using my Scor-Pal...that I love so much.  Oh and I used Sakura over the berries to give a glossy finish.  Everything just came together perfect on this project.
