KaiserCraft Design Team Call

I have to tell you I was super stoked when I heard that KaiserCraft was having an open design team call.  I literally had just told my sister I would love to be on their design team and low and behold the call was posted just a few days later.  I've been in love with their embellishments for some time and their paper is to die for...but honestly the paper and embellishments are just the beginning.  They really are an amazing company with such a wide array of products...so who wouldn't love to be on such a Design Dream Team.

Recycled Flower Card

This month at ABC DT we have been celebrating Spring and I'm going to finish up that theme with this Recycled Flower Card.  Have you ever wondered what the heck to do with all those old phone books?  How about using some of our cherish Spellbinders dies and created handmade flowers.  I used the brand new die Blossom 3 and cut lots of blooms out of used phone books.  I then sprayed the pages down with Tattered Angels Mist  and left to dry.  Once dry I crinkled the blooms and layered them up to created this stunning flower.

We'll have a new challenge coming up this weekend...so be sure to check back on our blog and see what it is.  It's something that everyone is doing right now, so you'll have plenty of chances to enter your artwork.  Have a great weekend.

Heartfelt Wednesday with a Cherry on Top

r
Hi everyone, it's Heartfelt Wednesday and for today card I couldn't resist using the new Luscious Cherry Swirls stamp.  So fresh and cute for spring.  Here is everything you need to make this card including the directions.
Heartfelt Products Used: Luscious Cherry Swirls HCPC 3387, Labels 4 Grand Nestiblies #452069,Labels 4 Spellbinders # 393386, Scor-Pal Board 368770, Zip Dry Glue #ZD20Z, Dries Clear Glue 159723

Other Products Used: Bazzil Cardstock, Bazzill Bling Button, Pearl, Twine, Close To My Heart Ribbon, Cranberry Ink, Black Ink, 3-D Foam Tape, uniball white pen

Directions:

Cut and emboss the largest die from the Label 4 Grand Nestibles out in the Kraft paper cardstock. Score two inches in on each side of the die using the Scor-Pal Board and fold. Cut three decreasing sizes of the Label four out, the smallest and largest in cream and the middle size in red cardstock.

Stamp the single and the double cherry stamps on red and green cardstock. Cut pieces and glue the cherries together. Add a highlight to each cherry with white pen. Stamp sentiment on kraft paper and glue to the to the interior die label and trim.

Assembling: Glue ribbon with Clear Dries Glue around the outside of the base card. Tie Ribbon and adhere with glue. Top ribbon with Bazzil Bling Button and top Button with Pearl. (Tip: Color white pearls with Copic Markers to create custom colored pearls) Glue interior label to inside of card and attach one of the cherry stamps with foam tape to the inside. Attach smallest label to the red label and glue remaining cherry stamp with 3-d foam tape to the top. Finally add twine loop behind the front labels and wrap around the card over the button to close the card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team's projects this week at Heartfelt Creations....they are amazing. See  you on Friday and have a great hump day.

Hand Made Peony

This week at Just Rite Stampers the challenge is to incorporate handmade flowers into your project.  I'd gotten some new McGill punches that I couldn't wait to try out and this was the perfect challenge for me.  I took on the peony and though it took some time...Man was it worth it!!!! I love the finished flowers, just stunning.  The paper I used for this piece is the new Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden and I picked it up at Beary Scrap.  The sketch I used for this card is from Card Sketches.  I ended up giving this to my sister EE as we celebrated her birthday this weekend...I laughed when she asked if I actually won anything from the challenge did she get it...you have to understand I had just handed her a big bag of punches where she could make her own flowers...Silly girl!!!!

I love the new Just Rite stamps...they are so detailed and they coordinate with Spellbinders so you know that wins my heart :)

See you soon and have a great week!!

This card qualifies for the following challenges:
JustRite : Handmade flowers
Card Patterns: Sketch
Shabby Tea Room: Butterflies
Simon Says : Embossing

Gift of Gab

Yeap, even at five my little monkey has the GIFT OF GAB!!!  I talk to my sister....oh about 12 times a day and so of course he wants to talk to aunt EE too.  I love these pictures of him chilling out just chatting the night away to his aunt.  He's always so thoughtful to ask her " EE, How was your day?"....how sweet is that?

The paper used for this layout is from Prima Reflections collection.  I cute the flower papers and layered them with some of Prima's yummy flowers.

The Title letters are a mix...the blue letter are so Dusty Attic...gotta love that stuff.  The smaller letters are from a prima stamp.. the cut out butterflies are from that same stamp set.

I used the newest sketch from the Once Upon....a Sketch challenge that is currently going on .  I love their sketches and though you have to look a little...hope you'll see my version of it.  This layout also qualifies for The Shabby Tea Room challenge: use butterflies.

Happy Easter

Everyday that I get up, I can do so with a smile on my face because of TODAY! I'm so happy that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again...I truly stand in awe of my savior.  I'm amazed at the peace he affords me when there have been things in my life that just seem to big to handle...but he has taken those things and made them HUGE BLESSINGS.  I'm also very lucky to have such a wonderful church to attend...our pastor is filled with so much love, it's wonderful.  In fact our church is now doing live stream videos that you are welcome to watch...it's funny, true and challenging...here's the link if you'd like to check out some good news. BILTMORE BAPTIST This is also a great way to attend church if you're unable to get out of the house, on vacation or even overseas serving our country.

I hope you all have a blessed Easter with family and friends and get a chance to CELEBRATE THE GOOD NEWS.  CHRIST IS ALIVE!!!!!
