Create these simple but stylish Napkin Rings with Ribbon from Ribbon Resource

You’ll find napkin rings like this in some of the interior design magazines these days and they aren’t cheap.  The good news is they are super easy to make and won’t break the bank.  So pick out some of your favorite ribbons and let’s get started. 

 

You’ll need to gather together your supplies as shown.

 

 

Measure off about 10 ½ - 11” of  1 ½” width ribbon.

 

 

 Remove any wires from the edges of the ribbon (if you use wired ribbon)

 

 



 Loop the ribbon over two of the belt loops and then stitch in place with your sewing machine.

 

 

Cut your ends pretty and then seal the ends with clear drying glue.  This will prevent the ends from fraying.

I've used the World's Fair Collection from Graphic 45 and I don't think I could have chosen a more perfect paper for the theme of my book.  This is from a trip my sister, son and I took to Disneyworld two years ago.  It was a priceless trip and one that I'm glad I have this little book to remind me of just a few of our wonderful times.

Mon Amour with Graphic 45

Everyone loves love and the Mon Amour Card encases Love to a tea.  This card is one I created for CHA show for the Graphic 45 booth.  It has layers and layers of fussy cut images and then some more cut images just to make it a bit more delicate to the eye. 

 

 

 

 

Here's an interior picture of the card.  Remember it's just as important to make the inside of the card as beautiful as the outside.

Put a Bow On It with Ribbon Resource

Decorative pillows are the rage and they can really be expensive, so today I’ve got a great little tutorial to share with you that will have you a one of a kind decorative pillow for not a lot of $$$.  You can find all types of beautiful ribbon at The Ribbon Resource and get it in small amounts.....how exciting is that. 

 

Find a plain pillow, you pick the size.  I found one at target in the $3 bin that was canvas with gold polka dots.  It was perfect for this project.  Next  you’ll want to pick out your ribbon.  I suggest using a wide ribbon.  For this pillow I used a 3” wide Burlap ribbon that’s printed with gold. 

Work the pillow with your hand before you attach the ribbon.  You want to try to get the filler on the inside to move outwards. 

 

Next wrap your ribbon around your pillow, tuck in at the back and you can even tack it down with a needle and thread.  Then just fluff your pillow out and adjust your ribbon on the front. 

 

Here is a photo of the completed project to show you how cute it is finished.  I also made another one with some canvas polka dot ribbon that is super cute too.  The pair is adorable together.

Nothing like some Upcycled Altered Art with Graphic 45

 

 I always love to upcycle things when I can so when I found the inspiration for these little light bulb vases I was thrilled.  They are simple to create and you can make a grouping of them in no time.  It’s a great way to show off those single blooms.  I used the Steampunk Spells collection but there are so many Graphic 45 collections that would also be perfect for this project.  So the next time your bulb blows out…don’t throw it away, upcycle it into something beautiful.

Last Day for Farmers Market Projects with Heartfelt Creations

Today is the last day of the features from the design team using the Farmers Market collection by Heartfelt Creations.  This has been such a great collection to work with for the summer season.  I must say it's made me crave a fresh summer fruit cobbler more than once.  LOL. 

Todays' project is a lantern I made using the Farmers Market.  It's great for a centerpiece for an summer outdoor dinner/picnic.  Just pick you up some of the battery operated tea lights and you're good to go.

Ribbon Bracelet with the Ribbon Resource

 Everybody loves a little bling bling and today I’ve got a really easy bracelet that you can create in no time.  These make wonderful gifts for your friends and with all the ribbon choices we offer along with various beads, the only limit is your imagination. 

 

Gather together ribbon, beads/pearls, needle and bead thread

  Fold your ribbon with a small hill(about ¼” to ½” depending on the side of your pearl) and lay your pearl beside it, then run your needle and thread through to set. 

Continue the first step until you have enough of a length to go around your wrist.  I used 13 beads, but this will varying depending on your size bead and size of bracelet desired.

Once you have all your beads set, then run back through the ribbon and the beads with your needle and thread.  This will help to make sure the bracelet stay tight and secure the beads/pearls. 

 

At the end of your bracelet when you’ve run the thread back through tie a double knot and then run the loose ends back through the three or four of the pearls to finish off. 

 

Finish off your bracelet with a cute bow.  I just slide my over my wrist when I want to wear, but you could just tie on and off  if you prefer.
