Little Nell Layout

This holiday season KaiserCraft continues to release must have vintage Christmas papers.  OH MY!!!  I love all of them, but this is one that is near and dear to my heart, Turtle Dove.

The photograph is of my grandmother Nell when she was a little girl.  I'm so lucky to actually have photos like this but also to have such great collections that blend perfectly.  

When I received this collection from KasierCraft it was so early they hadn't even gotten in their embellishments that coordinated, so everything on this layout was made from their paper and their paper alone plus some beautiful dies.  I precision cut, sewed, colored, die cut...you name it but a I can tell you a lot of love and work when into this piece.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Layered Card for Scrap-Mart

Did you know majority of this card is solid cardstock...there is just a bit of designer paper used around the base and one of the labels.  The rest is either embossed or stamped and colored, which really helped me achieve the look I was going for.  

All the stamps are from JustRite including the beautiful green and aqua fronds background that I colored in with markers.  I also finished the card off with a homemade charm of pearls. Would you expect anything else from me.

Vintage Thank You Card

I had a great day crafting with my sister Gini and this is the card I created.  I used numerous Cheery Lynn Dies and stamp from Pink Persimmon.  I adore Cheery Lynn's build a flowers, talk about beautiful when they're finished, especially with a bit of shading.

Mini Prayer Book with Tutorial

I wanted to share a mini prayer book album I created this week for Scrap-Mart.  This sweet little 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 little book is the perfect size for a personal keepsake.

The interior has coin envelopes/ pockets that hold tags.  You can write down thoughts, prayers and keepsakes.

What to know how to make one of these for yourself?  Here is a brief tutorial tht will have you on the road in no time to creating your own prayer book.  Cut a 8 1/2  x 11 inch sheet of cardstock into four equal pieces ( 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 ) as shown above.  Each of the rectangles will create a pocket/ coin folder for your book.

Using your Scor-Pal score at 3 inches and 1 inch lengthwise.  Then score at 1/2 inch and 4 inches crosswise. Once you have them scored you can stamp your envelopes if you want.  Cut each corner square out of the envelope and corner round the two ends as shown in the pictures below.  

Once you have folded your envelope, cut and stamped you are ready to complete your folder.  Be sure to use strong glue tape like Scor-Pal's and adhere the folder together.  One some of my envelopes I left the top flap to be able to enclose notes and such and some I cut off the top fold to leave open and have the tags exposed.  

To create the mini book that holds envelopes cut the following sizes of cardboard. 

2 pieces - 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 

2 pieces - 3/4 x 2 1/2

1 piece - 3/4 x 2 1/2

Cut two pieces of patterned cardstock 2 1/2 x 12 inches.  This will cover your cardboard pieces  Glue down your cardboard pieces to your cardstock leaving a small gap inbetween each piece as shown below.   This will give extra room for folding your book. 

To finish off glue your interior designer cardstock down and fold into your book.  To adhere your coin folder/envelopes stack and glue each one to the one before and then glue with strong glue to your book so that when it opens it accordion folds out.  Decorate as desired.

May Your Life....

Hi everyone.  Just wanted to share a card I had created using Prickley Pear Stamps.  The flower was created using a Spellbinders...love those handmade flowers.

A Month With Scrap-Mart

I was so excited when I opened an email one day and discovered that Scrap-Mart wanted me to be a guest designer for them for a month.  Hoot! Hoot!  Heck who doesn't love Scrap-Mart.  They carry so many must have scrapping goodies...  everybody loves them.  So this is my first card I created for my guest designer spot.

This is a fancy fold card called a tunnel card. As you can see in the interior there is a 3-D window that pops out highlighting a scene or sentiment. I loaded this card up with JustRite stamps and Spellbinders die cuts.  Which of course you can pick up at Scrap-Mart.  The mini stamped banners from O Christmas Tree  were colored and highlighted with Tim Holtz's distress markers.  The faint stamped banners on each side of the interior of the card also used the O Christmas Tree stamp from JustRite with Tim Holtz's distress ink pad vintage photo.  I'll be honest this is for sure my go to ink color all the time.

For the interior window I used Spellbinders Vintage Lace Motifs for my fancy circle and used Vintage Lace Accents for the beautiful border corner flourishes.  

The front of the card used JustRite's Fleur De Les Labels 20 stamp set, Spellbinders Label 20 and some bling from Want2Scrap.   I look forward to seeing you next week with my next Scrap-Mart post.

Desk Caddy Fun!!!

Save the Date is one of KaiserCraft's newest collections and you can see it's just plain FUN!
This is a letter desk caddy I created which of course you know, yeap, my youngest son Cole has already scooped it up for his room.

Heck I even covered the pencils with the paper.  Everything just pops.  I love it.  

I've Got an Attitude!!!!!

OK, I'll be the first to admit, edgy is not really my style...but I really did have fun with collection from KaiserCraft.  It was almost like I had permission to throw a little paint and rub some dye around.  What a great release.  I was able to create the photo with photofunia, because no...no one has ever graffitied my child onto a building, LOL

The collection is called Attitude from KaiserCraft and it's great for letting loose.  I'd love to hear what you think about my layout!

Now for a little side note...I am having such a hard time as of late posting with Blogger.  It won't open all the way with CHROME which is what it says I know need to use with Blogger.  I've opened it this morning with Internet Explorer and half the features aren't working but I am able to somehow get this post on...so any suggestions as to the frustration of it all would be so helpful.  I don't want to have to get an ATTITUDE with Blogger, LOL.  Thanks.
