House Card Instructions

Cut the base of the house 9 x 5 inches. Score at 1" and 5". Use a decorative punch on the edge with a 1 inch fold. Stamp your windows and door (from the CTMH Campin Fever stamp set) and cut out. I backed the window with sweet leaf cardstock and used a girl silhoutte from the Be Yourself stamp set in the window. Attach brads for the door hinges and door knob. (I cut an extra door shape out of green leaf cs when I cut the door- you can then stamp a sentiment to see when the door is opened). Glue your window and door. Glue the two side edges of the house, so that a pocket is formed.

For the roof, cut cocoa cs 3 x 6, and score in half horizontally. Cut a corner off of the left side to form the angle of the roof, then flip the cut-off over to the right to use as a template to cut the same angle on the right side. Open up the roof and on the score line, about an inch from the right margin, use an exacto knife to cut a slit just a hair over 1 inch. This is where you will insert a 1" x 1" square for your chimney. Glue the bottom of the chimney to the inside of the roof.

Make the base of the notecard by cutting a 5 x 4.25 piece in colored cs, and a 4 x 3.25 piece of white cs for your writing area. Glue the white card towards the bottom of the colored cs (you should have a 1.75 inch margin of colored cs at the top) Use edge anchors to attach the roof to the card (this way, it will only be attached at the top, and the rest of the roof will flap loose, so it can slide down over the house). Slip the notecard down into the house pocket and your card is complete.

This card will fit in a 6 x6 envelope.
