Isn't this just the cutest little turtle? I fell in love with him when I saw him. I've really gotten Spring Fever the last few days seeing all the flowers starting to bloom, working out in the yard spreading mulch with my hubbie and starting to get the yard ready to welcome in the warm weather. So Toby just seemed to fit the mood I've been in lately. The challenge this week at DZ Doodles was to use any sketch from anywhere...so of course I had to pull out my WISHES book from Close To My Heart and I used the sketch Satchel on page 38. Don't have the WISHES book...you really should. The layouts for cards are great and there are so many quickie how-tos and tips through out the whole book. You'd love it! Now back to the challenge, it's your turn. Pick any sketch from anywhere and make a DZ Doodle card and enter it in our weekly challenge. Here's the link to the DZ Doodle Blog so be sure to enter and you could win. For doing the challenge you could win two free images so everyone should really check out the details and you just might be the lucky one. Tuesday, April 13, 2010

A Second Day Of Miracle !
We'll I teased you yesterday with my second layout using the Miracle Kit....so here it is.
On this layout I used the Flip Flaps on the right hand page and was able to put six photos on one layouts, but yet the pictures don't crowd out the artwork. AMAZING!
(Flip Flaps Closed)
(Flip Flaps Open)
But I told you I would reveal the second Miracle of this kit...and it's the IRRESITIBLE DIMENSIONAL ELEMENTS! What you say? These are chipboard elements that have a resist pattern on them that make your layouts literally go with any photo or color combination. In this project I used black ink...yes I know a little outside the box, but I felt like a great accent color in my photos was black. So I took my handy dandy sponge dauber and put black on my irresistibles....and pop...the page works with my pictures. You are so gonna love them and I will tell you are some new one that you can also pick up in the Summer Idea Book that will premiere May 1st. On yesterday's post I used my favorite color Cranberry...so go back and take a look.

I adore these Miracle pages for so many reasons, the kit, the accessories, the simplicity but more than anything the wonderful people that are featured in them...My little monkey son, Cole, and my sweet friends, Tina, Denise and Lynn. It's so nice to know that I have beautiful pages that will capture snippets of my wonderful life forever and that too is a real MIRACLE.

The Miracle Begins ...April 15th
I started working on my Miracle layouts Friday....and had them complete on, yeap you guessed it Friday. They were so quick and easy but so fantastic once they were complete.

*
* Purchase the kit for $19.99 plus shipping and tax
*
So what's the Miracle behind this kit....
I really think it's two things.
The first is you can have your layouts hold unlimited pictures. How you ask? FLIP FLAPS. Have you used Flip Flaps? If not my next question would be WHY NOT! They're Great! They allow you to add multiple pictures to your layouts and still have design. On this page I've used three pictures on this page, but when the Flip Flaps are closed it only looks like one...I just love the design effect of these.....and yes the Flip Flaps come in your kit.
Flip Flap Closed
Flip Flap open.
Don't you just love this? The other thing that makes this kit so special is the dimensional elements...and tomorrow I'll show you more about those....another reason you're going to have to have this kit. So stayed tuned till tomorrow and see another layout using the Miracle Kit and discover the irresitables.

April Stamp of the Month Close To My Heart Blog Hop
Welcome to April's Close To My Heart/Stamp of the Month blog hop. If you just joined us from Susan's Blog your on the right path. This month's stamp is called "Flower Pot" and I have to admit it's one of my favorites from this Idea Book. It just cries Spring! With Easter right around the corner I couldn't help but think of some cute way to deliver a sweet treat with a spring theme to it, and this stamp set was perfect. I used the Caboodle paper pack, which right now seems to be all I'm using. I just can't put it down, love it! The little box is a 2-5-7-10 and was so quick and fun to make. I adhered a sheet of the B&T Duos to a plain piece of colonial white cardstock to to give the paper a little more stability. I had the box put together in no time, and then decorated the 2 1/4 squared card with the Flower Pot stamp. Sponged the pots with a little sorbet ink and some masking and then colored in the flowers with sweet leaf, buttercup and crystal blue markers. It's ready for the Easter Bunny to pick up and deliver to someone special on Easter morning.
Flower Pot is only available throughout the month of April. It has 16 stamps and retails for $22.95, but remember you can always get it discounted or even for free. Be sure to go to my website http://lorileng.myctmh.com/ to get your today, before it's gone forever.
Now it's time to hippity hoppity over to Shelia's blog....enjoy her beautiful artwork she has to offer. Have a blessed and beautiful EASTER and come back soon for more works of art.

Distressed?

This week's challenge over at DZ Doodles is Distress! So what do you love to distress, do you use your scissors, one of Close To My Heart's handy distressing tools, do you use ink...WHAT? Now is your chance to really show us how you love to distress. Use one of DZ Doodles cute little images, distress and enter in the weekly challenge. For my distressed card this week I used Thelma Tulips. How can you not love this lady with an attitude. DZ Doodles carrys a whole line of this adorable character, so be sure to check out all the things Thelma is up to at DZ Doodles store. I used Caboodle paper from Close To My Heart along with some Blooms and pearls colored with my Copics. The Caboodle paper is just so darn poppy and really compliments Thelma's spirit.

It's DZ Doodle Challenge Time
Welcome to the weekly DZ Doodles challenge. This week certainly ushers in spring. We want you to be inspired by the above picture and create a card, layout or anything you can image using a DZ Doodles image and drawing your inspiration from the above pictures. Here is my creation for the week. I really felt like the flowers were just popping of the picture so I made sure to make my pansies pop off the page. I used two digis from DZ Doodles ....Oval Basket and Pansy Seashell Planter. The two seemed to just be crying out to be to merge them together. So I colored both the images with my copics and then used my xacto blade to slice the handle of the basket to be able to slide the pansies in. Then I also cut some of the flowers petals to help them pop just a big more. Really the images are enough for this card, but I did add a little stitching and a handmade mini tassel to pull it all together. It's a fresh springy card that certainly does welcome in this time of year.
Now it's your turn...let the first picture inspire you and then enter your artwork in our weekly challenge over at DZ Doodles Blog and here's the best part......you could win two images just for playing along. Be sure to check out all the details on the blog and also other Design Team members artwork for what they created using this same challenge. Monday, March 22, 2010
