It's a Girl

A good friend of mine is going to be a grandmother for the first time and I'm so thrilled for her. I going to D.C. with her for the week so I thought I would make her this little card to help celebrate that precious baby girl that will be here shortly. I used the Happy Forever Stamp of the Month from CTMH and my much loved copics. I distressed the edges a little just to give that extra pop. The paper is from the Daydream CTMH collection.

The Hedgehog qualifies for the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge : Animals and the distressing qualifies him for the Crafty Catz challenge.
Be sure to check in a lot this week, as I have a ton of posts scheduled with artwork and projects for convention.

Happy Fourth of July Boopie!

So I know you're asking who the heck is Boopie? Well that is my sweet mother's nickname, in fact she named herself that when she was a little girl. Actually both my parents have nicknames that we call them, but my Daddy is another story. Boopie is the most wonderful woman you can imagine, very kind and loving and for sure my greatest role model. I'm so blessed that God gave me her for a mother.

Well, today is her birthday. When she was a little girl she thought all the fireworks and festivities were in celebration of her...of course they were. This year she insisted that no one get her any gifts and in fact she's having the party at her house, not letting anyone else bring a single dish or do anything to help. She just keeps saying " It a Fourth of July party, not my birthday". There is no way in heck I would grace her doors without having thought of her somehow, so I made this album to give her. It holds the greatest loves of her life, my Daddy being the ultimate, my sister and I and her grandsons. I hope she'll cherish it for a long time, I know I certainly cherish her.

The Winner is......

This month we had a club challenge with PinkCloudScrappers and man did we have some great projects. The challenge was to show your American Pride and use Close To My Heart products primarily, other companies could be used a little. I had some wonderful artwork submitted and I'm so proud of my club members for really using what they had and showing inspiring me with their artwork. Great job to everyone.
Unfortunately there can be only one winner and it was a really hard choice, but this month's challenge winner is
LORRAINE

I just adored her lay out that she did using the Blue Ribbon Paper and stickease stickers. Wonderful artwork Lorraine, and I'll be emailing you soon. I hope everyone has a very blessed and safe fourth of July.
Again thanks to everyone that joined in the fun and I look forward to the next club challenge.

CTMH " Happy Forever " Blog Hop

Welcome to another great month of artwork featuring Close To My Heart Consultants and July's stamp of the Month "Happy Forever". If you've just arrived from Carol's blog your on the right track and if not welcome and start hopping as it will loop back around.

This month is probably my favorite stamp of the month for this idea book. Happy Forever is adorable and I know this little guy will inspire many a cute projects. I have been wanting to do a Tri-Shutter folded cards and decided this would be an adorable paring.
I used the Splendor paper pack which seems to be a top pick of mine these days. Another stand by for me is the "State of Mind" stamp set I used for the sentiment in the middle. I'm constantly reaching for it. For my little hedgehog I stamped the image and colored him in with a chocolate watercolor pencil and blended with our blender pen...a true must have. For the lighter portions of his belly and face I added a touch of the sunflower water color pencil so when I blended it, it created a lighter shade. I also created the 3-D flowers but spritzed with water to give a more antiqued/crushed look. I really enjoyed making this card and can't wait to do another.
Now a bit of business...remember you can only get the stamp of the month during July. The retail price is $22.95, but if you place an order of $25, you can pick him up for 25% off, $50=50% off, $75=75% off and if you spend $100 you can take this little guy home for FREE!. Feel free to go to my website CLICK HERE .
Lucky you, it's time for the next exciting project from the talented Adeline. You have to check out her patriotic punked hedgehog...so darn cute. Enjoy the hop and I look forward to seeing you next month.

It's a Karen's Doodles Summer Day

So this week at Karen's Doodles all her blog challenges are do something with Summer in mind...so today was a Summer Doodle Day. I did three cards (As Karen's Doodle's has four different blogs) and honestly I only really like one...darn I'm hard on my work. I adore the Summer Wishes card which features a new folding paper technique that I learned from good ole Close To My Heart...man I love all the artist things I learn being a consultant for them. I also frame two of the cards with ribbon for Really Reasonable Ribbons challenge.

So I've had my fun and now it's time to get down to business...finish up my projects for convention in two weeks and get a gift done for my Mom's birthday on the fourth...so challenges are over and the real work begins...fun, fun!

Oldie, but Goodie

This week has been a crazy one for me. I've been working full time at the office due to some vacation time for others (hope you're having a blast Shellie). I have also been trying to get done some little gift/projects for convention in a couple weeks and I'm having a Father's Day lunch at my house on Sunday, and man is there a lot to clean. Most night's I've been getting in about 6:30...thank God for the crock pot and by the time Greg and I get the kids down, I'm ready for bed. Last night I think I feel asleep right around 9pm...CRAZY. So, all this to say, I haven't done a lot of work I can share right now, the gifts and such I'll post while at convention...so I thought I'd dig back in the ole scrapbook and pull out some oldies but some goodies.
This is a layout I did for my husband before we were even married. I was trying to win his heart, LOL. I did a whole scrapbook on his S.A.S.S. club. For those of you who don't know...S.A.S.S. stands for Single Action Shooter Society. He and my father use to go, but they don't anymore....wish they did. Greg adored it. They dressed up in cowboy attire and went out with guns... They would be given a series of shots...hit this target twice, then use your rifle and then hit this one again with your handgun...something like that. They were timed and scored on their accuracy of shooting. I should tell you Greg placed first every time...but I'd be lying. Heck the fun part is just going and trying right. The layout is really pretty simple, these were the early days about seven years ago. I remember I was so proud of myself because I had painted the cardstock to look like wood...yeah for me, LOL. I still wanted to bring it out and show, it's seem perfect for this time of year with the fourth right around the corner.
So I'm off to get ready for another fun filled day at the office, Look forward to catching up and posting a little more current things this weekend.
Oh and don't forget to check out the Jackpot June sale today...Who knows what it will be.
