Stamptacular's Sunday Challenge this week was to stamp something, and use only colors that remind you of the fall. I always think of Fall as having crisp, clear blue skies, with the lovely browns, greens and yellows thoughout the landscape. Living in the Western NC Mountains I'm so blessed every fall to see the spectacular show that nature has to offer. This card displays some of those rich fall colors I just adore. I used the beautiful Close To My Heart Paper pack Caprice. This is one that is set to retired this December and I'll miss it. I just think it's beautiful. The stamp set is also from Close To My Heart "Grown with Love" and for whatever reason this tree reminds me of one of my favorite books "To Kill a Mockingbird ". This weekend has continued to be such a blessing to me spending it snuggled in with my boys and my paper. I wish the same happiness to you.

Wizard of Oz Card
I did this card for my husband for our fifth wedding anniversary and was also able to enter it in several challenges...Always fun. Simon Say Stamps Challenge this week is animal antics and I certainly think Toto fits that bill. I stamped the yellow brick road with one of the brick stamps from this months Close To My Heart Stamp of the Month...I've really used that stamp a ton. The challenge at Corrosive Challenges was to be inspired byLet's go to the Movies - obviously, this would be the Wizard of Oz. The adorable Dorothy/Toto image is from Michelle Perkett and if you haven't looked her up yet, you should. I just love her images, they're wonderful to color. The sketch came from the Get Sketchy Challenge this week. It was a sketch that really challenged me, so thanks for making me think outside the box. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Holiday.

Give Thanks, Baby!

This time of the year, it really is the season to pause and reflect on everything we have to be thankful for. Our families, our country, our lives and the love that truly is around us. I'm thankful first and foremost for family, they are my heart and this evening I was blessed to be able to hang out with the worlds greatest sister. My son calls her EE, I've always called her Ninny but the rest of the world knows her as Gini. She has always been more than just my sister and I love her so much, so whenever we get to be together and just be ourselves is such a joy. She is the queen of card challenges so with her guidance towards the challenges, I did this "Thankful" card this evening for Lala Land Crafts challenge creating a card that shows thankfulness. They are giving some amazing blog candy - but you need to enter by midnight, Monday 23rd. I thought this image from Sassy Studio Designs was just adorable and really wanted to add BABY to it but just didn't want to overdo it...so even though the baby didn't make it on, the name of the card is Give Thanks Baby. I used the sketch from Pixie Cottage, simple but just perfect. Lastly I used the cuddle bug embossing folder to add the wonderful detail and texture of the circle to the side of the card, The Cuttlebug spot is also having a challenge for a card using a turkey...so boy did this card fit a lot of bills. I hope you enjoy the artwork, but more than anything I hope you will take a few minutes to think about what exactly it is you have to be thankful for and may your blessings abound!

Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge
Hi all, I hope you have had a wonderful weekend. Believe it or not, Christmas has already arrived at our house...yes I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet! We love to decorate and howdy, so we jump on the holidays extra early. The trees (yes plural, we put up four) have started going up, lights dangling down, stockings hung and little touches of Christmas are tucked all around. This is my favorite time of year. I love all the decorations and food, but more than anything I love the twinkle in my little ones eyes and the love that my whole family shares being together. So in honor of the wonderful season that is approaching I decided to make my Peachy Keen stamp challenge a wonderful winter snowman. Yes, I'm still loving the Jingle paper and have used it on this card, along with All Decked Out stamp set...I fell in love with this stamp set from the get go and have been dying to use it...YEAH! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go to Peachy Keens sight and see some of the adorable stamp sets they have to offer and also the challenges.

I Love the Jingle Kit!
This weekend is my local workshop using the Close To My Heart Jingle kit and I just have to tell you, in preparing for it, I have fallen in LOVE! I was able to make both of these adorable layouts and six cards....with one kit. Now granted I did have some base white cardstock that helped stretch things, but that's it...and I actually have paper still left over from my Jingle Paperpack. The base kits are only $29.95 (plus tax and shipping) and that includes the paper pack, twinkle brad accessory, color guide and a stamp set...yes, I said a stamp set. The value is close to $35 so it's a steal. You can also add on some On Target Dimensional Elements and some Cranberry ribbon and you can have the complete look I've created with all the projects above. The ink colors used are Tulip and Creme Brulee and I used the Posterboard Font Stamp set, but you can certainly use any that you like. I always am amazed at how certain kits, just aren't my favorite at first and then I really get in and use them and fall in love... Yes, I know I'm fickle from one Close To My Heart collection to the next...but they are all so beautiful so this is the one time cheating is OK! Oh and I just have to tell you I have the perfect pictures in mind for these layouts, but my old computer crashed some time ago and I had my youngest son's first Christmas on there, so I lost the photos. My husband has all of the originals and I've asked him to get me copies, but instead of you waiting for him to pull them out for as long as I might wait...I figured you would rather just see the artwork. If you would be interested in get this kit by mail, please contact me via email lorileng@bellsouth.net as this can only be ordered direct from me...not on my website.
Cute Card Thursday...Glitter Me Silly
Cute Card Thursday's challenge this week is Glitter Me Silly and since I've been on a real roll with the Jingle CTMH Paperpack...I chose to use it for this card also. I have to admit I also really love CTMH's prisma glitter...I use that over the whole card but it's amazing how in spots it looks white and on other backgrounds it's green...sometimes it's even pink...really cool how that works. I hope you enjoy this card and be sure to check out all the other awesome artwork with Cute Card Thursday's challenge.

Layers Of Color...Interpretations
I did this card for the Layers Of Color Design Challenge. This card reminded me of the game I use to play as a child where one child would whisper something in the person's ear beside them and then it would repeat until it came to the end of the circle and then by the end of the game you would see what the first thing whispered turned into, something silly that's for sure. It's all in interpretations. I saw this digi at Layers Of Color and thought I would make this card...not until after it was completely finished and I showed my sister did she tell me it was a ribbon buckle...NEVER SAW IT THAT WAY!. Now of course, everytime I see this digi I see a ribbon bucket but before I saw it as some type of Vegas neon sign flashing with bright colors....go figure. Anyhow I used copics to create the shading on the digi and of course my beloved stamps from Close To My Heart from the L Solos stamp set. I hope you enjoy and go chec
k out all the fun that Layers of Color is having this week.

My Favorite Things
There is a challenge going on right now with Flourishes that's to create something that is inspired by the song " My Favorite Things" from the Sound Of Music. I had so many ideas on what to do for this and perhaps I'll do a couple more, but for now I settled on snowflakes that stay on my nose and my lashes. I used Close To My Heart Perfect Day Paper pack, fun flock and liquid glass to add the snowflakes, a couple of small snowflake stamps from the All Decked Out Stamp Set , a stamp I had from Pre-CTMH days and my copics to shade in the girl and created this card. I've enjoyed having a challenge to do and thank you to Flourishes for giving me the opportunity. If you would like to see this challenge from Flourishes, Click Here and thank you for stopping by.
